I heavily dislike it from extreme exposure, but it’s a great pop song. It’s catchy, memorable, and one of our own modern xmas classics. The vast majority of xmas songs are friggin ancient. Most modern xmas music is just a band doing their quota xmas album w the old standards. Mariah did her own song

With all due respect… you’re basically totally right. However, there is a large pile of “good songs” they’re just incredibly hard to uncover and who wants to spend the time? I mean besides us?
I am partial to A Christmas Duel, for Cindi Lauper’s vocals, and that it is a Christmas Song for people whose holidays are often just one battle in a long war on many emotional fronts.
