Here in Georgia, the Democratic Party was so useless, we created a parallel operation (The Fab Four) as a rapid-response method to get moderate women in a red district to vote Dems. You can see our Facebook ads and videos here:

Well, it almost worked.
We have moved on from electing retired women to preparing the next generation of Democratic leaders- again, bypassing the state party.
This rapid response effort was put together in the last 14 days. Young people are amazing.

My two cents on the original question: the push should be to build media outlets that nurture a sense of community built around a) calling out injustices, b) building political power that advances justice.

I think the DailyKos model from 2002-2008 should be used as a template.

I wouldn't align with the Democratic Party.

And the "business model" needs to be addressed. There has to be a revenue stream to pay the bills & compensate those doing the work.

What are your thoughts on John Stewart's take? Essentially not that what Republicans are doing is inherently wrong (he knows it is), but that democrats should stop whining about it and start telling people what they would do with this power. Canceling student loans, taxing billionaires, etc.

That's about exactly where I sit, only slightly more leaned towards Dems.

I basically just don't want to alienate people like you, who know the party is a husk of what we need; but I also don't want to alienate people who think if it's not dems, it's just another rep vote in a trenchcoat.

So far it's just been amassing people who understand and agree on what real problems are.

Next goals are an interactive map of every government seat, and endorsements of people who run there that support real change.

Is it possible for you to start with a smaller scale? Focus first on how it could be executed locally, and then use your experience to expand it outwards? That way you aren’t just doing nothing / recruiting AND you’re more legit because you can point to your values, mission, goals, achievements.

The largest reason the answer is no, is because I'm canadian lol.

I view what I'm doing as more of a movement, and I believe cultures are similar enough that I gear content towards all of North America, and I like the idea of unification (not under these terms though)

I say this because this is how most products / projects even are executed. Start off with an MVP, use that to build trust and gain buy in, then iterate and scale.
