This is basically what I say in my book. Without road pricing/congestion pricing, the lower costs of charging and running EVs will lead to a lot more driving

Seems quite plausible to me that EVs will actually impede traffic reduction because they are regarded a solution to the environmental consequences of driving by the type of person most likely to care.

That’s true for EV or petrol vehicles.
Out of town retail parks might suffer if people counted the price of the trip to get there.

Also appreciated the UK perspective to show destruction of cities for cars was not unique to the US
