We were pleased to visit Number 10 Downing Street yesterday to meet the PM's advisers, Henry Alexander and Carys Roberts, to discuss #AFreshWaterFuture & wider water policy matters. We welcome the opportunity to represent our members’ skills and knowledge when speaking with the PM's officials.

"The thing is, you see, it's an *Australian style* scheme, so no worries there." Once McSweeney came up with this positioning it was green lights all the way.

Great to hear people's priorities 😆 🍰

Abandoning Ukraine, and Europe, to thwart China.

Have written about JD Vance’s Munich speech. In what may prove to be the biggest week for European security since 1991, it’s time Europe listened to what Trump and his Vice President are telling us. open.substack.com/pub/goodalla...

I think we should all sign this @exetercycling.bsky.social . Would really start to shift the power imbalance

💡You can report litter on the National Highways website

Excellent detailed analysis as you would expect from this journalist

I'm very proud of fellow Alton College alumni @yvettecooper-mp.bsky.social 👏 Now please listen to @sundersays.bsky.social

Cars are getting 1cm wider every two years. That may not sound much, but over time it adds up, and they're showing no signs of slowing down 😬 That's #carspreading. Our new campaign is calling on city leaders to make parking policies fairer by varying costs based on the size of a car. Why? 🧵1/8

“Today, DEI has become the new N-word; the new rightwing abstraction deployed by Republicans to conceal their anti-Black racism.” My latest for the Guardian, in which I cite Lee Atwater, and bring lots of receipts. Sorry, but it has to be said:

There's definitely something in this. Make the EU Boring Again

I wish Labour would listen to @sundersays.bsky.social

Choose Bikes.

Mesmerising

0.43% increase in UK GDP by 2050 if a third runway is opened at Heathrow. 12% fall in world GDP for every 1C rise in global temperature.

Joy in a single image

Charing Cross Road, pedestrianised today. Glorious. Because whenever you take cars away, cities get better.

Huge win for the climate! The Rosebank and Jackdaw oil and gas fields are ruled unlawful and consent quashed. Amazing victory for @stopcambo.bsky.social and @greenpeaceuk.bsky.social and so pleased that my win on Horse Hill contributed to this. www.wealdactiongroup.org.uk/2025/01/rose...

Feeling cheered by the news that a Bill to ban pavement parking has been introduced. 2nd reading Is 16th May. Thank you @marshadecordova.bsky.social www.theyworkforyou.com/debates/?id=...

I'd love to see a proper analysis of how we're going to find the people to build the third runway at Heathrow, several new reservoirs, 1.5 million houses and various other new infrastructure without mass imigration.

This is brilliant, again.

Wow: four lanes of traffic. Just buses and bikes now, and much more space for pedestrians. Some things do improve.

Interesting point made in South Yorkshire's franchising assessment: "Under a Franchising Scheme, it is easier to predict and control the improvements by the bus network in response to measures taken to discourage car use, which may make discouraging car use easier politically"

20 years on from the start of a novel avian disease epidemic that has led to catastrophic population declines in several UK species we are finally getting some significant movement on advice regarding bird feeding www.theguardian.com/environment/... 1/2 #Ornithology #UKbirding
