So basically my takeaway here is that X has credit card numbers and other info that could help identify people who are engaged in widespread fraud and apparent foreign political interference, but of course isn’t doing anything to stop it

Right, but they would be missing out on 4-5 figures of income if they stopped these particular bots from spamming scams to their users. That extra $20K a year is too much for the billion dollar company to pass up as they flatline on user growth.
Haven’t ‘closed’ my Twitter account —so that it remains mine for legal purposes but it’s as financially worthless as it’s ever been …which is kind of my unpaid security system 🤭 against and within it #poverty and always has been 🎭 since 2009
