Based on your spelling, I'm going to assume you're from the UK and that this conversation is based on a cultural misunderstanding. I know my partner, who's British, did not receive any education about Canadian politics in school outside of how it affected Britain; things may still be the same.
Not sure who is being addressed me or the other poster? No I'm from Aotearoa NZ and live in Aus. I'm well and truly ensconced in countries that were colonised. Anyway thanks for the heads up re language, that may have been in the recesses of my brain from school but I'd very much forgotten
I also currently am working researching and providing records to the Yoorrook Justice Commision in Victoria at the moment. So no I have plenty of education on the evils of colonisation. Colonisation is evil.
