A teacher at my last job complained about not having accommodations for himself and I'm like YES βπΏ and then he went on to say that there are no accommodations in real life so students shouldn't get them π€‘

Today I heard someone say, apparently in good faith, that faculty nation-wide have reported much higher levels of stress, depression, and dissatisfaction in their jobs lately and the distressing part is that they linked this (partly) to the increase in student accommodations. π§΅

Sadly, the profs most adamant about NOT providing accommodations were the ones who could have used them themselves.
It's always a sludge to illuminate the importance of individualized accommodations even though most places have systems where you get what they give rather than what you need.
We're advocating daily.
Then why does my driverβs license state I need to wear my glasses to drive? Does the state of Tennessee consider that a fashion statement?
Also, there are plenty of accommodations in real life, it's just that not everyone gets them
