I have over 3 thousand books lying around my house.
I have read all of them at least once.
The ones I choose not to read again, I donate to the Library.
Unfortunately, my wife works for Barnes and Noble, so we buy more. 🙄
Hi, I like to bring some perspective especially in these times when the US are becoming more and more unique ( or similar to iran, perhaps ) so here it is:
here in europe, at least in many countries, we do not have any banned books. Not in modern times.
Please include a list of books banned in the USA, i.e. can't be found in any public library, on Amazon, or in any reputable book store. I want to read a null list of banned books. Thanks in advance.
We read most of those books as kids in school or I bought for my kids. I don’t get it. Something else I don’t understand, I thought the R party didn’t like big government but yet I see continuous control over private choices.
Hi all! I’m raising funds to help my family and give the kids a Christmas they’ll always remember. Your support—through a donation or sharing this link—means so much to us. Thank you for helping bring joy to our holiday season! 💖
I don’t think it should be banned. Apparently, it’s so badly written that reading it can only be a negative for the Nazi cause…..A bit like bible class and Christianity.
I tried to read that drivel when I was in high school. As long as you aren’t reading it for pointers, it’s eye opening and sort of a prep for what we can expect in the U.S. going forward. I suggest the cliff notes version.
I am working on letters to send to all of my state congress reps about making MI a state that banns banning books. I wrote the White House earlier this year about disability rights but ... my letter won't get to the person I want to at this point so I will have to work from within.
2000s era GA public education was fully with that mindset [that I graduated in and from]. Feed me your words'n'wisdom and I'll see if we can diamond out reactions from my optics and internals. I've gotten $6000 directly to Jerusalem for next level kabbahlic literature affirming Christ
This is the USA we don't ban books. But the Leftists do claim That we have banned books because they are all pedos and very upset that they can't groom kids with the help of the pervy librarians. AnyMORE. Who Knew about this Nexus. See a shrink dude.
That’s difficult over here in the UK, as far as I can find the only book currently banned is a manual on how to make bombs.
Live in a country that doesn’t ban books.
One of the lovely things about book bans is that the books that become banned are easily accessible online and the banning itself is good publicity for that book. The banned books are documented, and when the children grow up, they have a list of new books to read.
One thing I love is how sales of Margaret Atwood’s “A Handmaid’s tale”, which is on the banned booklist, shot back up to number 1 right after the 2024 US election. If there are any content creators out there, I would love a comparison of Project 2025 and scenarios in the book.

As far as I know, there are no banned books in the UK. The concept in what is supposed to be a democracy like the U.S. is quite disturbing. It's been a 'boiled frog' descent.
And they will NOT stop here! Do what you need to do now to strengthen your democracy. A weakened U.S. might excite some people but ultimately a chaotic America won’t be a good thing for other countries either. Tariffs alone will impact everyone.
Thanks for this. I've been having a hard time finding good books. Science fiction is my favorite. I'm going to put away the cursed Kindle and ask my local librarian for a recommended banned book. Thanks again.
I bought a couple of Sherman Alexie, a Maya Angelou, Jodi Picoult ( Sixteen Minutes and Mad Honey), John Green's The Fault in our Stars, and a couple of YA titles with LGBTQ+characters for grandkids.
Yes. You'd be shocked by a full list. I live in Texas, where someone compiled a list of all books banned in all school districts in the state. I chose books from that 18 page list (many books were banned in multiple districts).
Not necessarily 'self-improvement', it's more like, Democracy protection!

I swear some folks don't read at all.
Including stop signs.
I have read all of them at least once.
The ones I choose not to read again, I donate to the Library.

Democracy depends on an informed voting populace.

54% of US citizens read at under a 6th grade level, a crisis IMO, what can we do to increase their reading skills?

Surround yourself with the kind of people who READ.
And those who will write the next ones.
Banning always has the opposite effect. BBC used to ban tracks in the top 10. So of course everyone went out and bought them.
Religion is the main force that bans books and we Aussies are a bunch of heathens.
people that read.....
or the ICC's report on Gaza
