I may not be able to scientifically prove that increasing one's garlic bread intake drastically improves overall quality of life, but on the other hand, you can't prove that it *doesn't*.

If you are ever in So. California - Either Ontario, Rancho Cucamonga or Temecula ... Vince's Spaghetti (Ontario is the original location) - Has the best Garlic rolls! ... They are also great the next morning reheated and peanut butter spread over them... yep.. garlic bread for breakfast!
My father refused to eat garlic bread because he'd say "that's what they used to tip bullets with in the war."
Always imagined garlic bread torpedos when he said this.
Garlic, called Ail in France, pronounced same way as Aye in Scotland is brilliant stuff - living in France have learned so many ways of using it apart from eating it! It’s good for scaring fairies or other mythical creatures if you have a problem with them but can’t remember rest - just eat it!
Just had a thought maybe that’s why Scots say Aye - perhaps it’s due to French connection & they are missing their Ail? Or maybe it’s just Celtic & Celts were def. in France, Wales, Cumbria & Scotland.
Eating copious amounts of garlic bread can "enrich" exhalations to the point many people can perceive your recent consumption and stay the hell away from you. I feel their "aversion" drastically improves MY overall quality of life, mentally and physically. So consider it proved that it DOES! 😁
