Welcome to Bluesky, new users! I sometimes ask people to submit a reader question that I answer in my WIRED newsletter/column. Could be anything. I need one for this week--ask away, folks!

How can people be so excited about an app (blue sky) that doesn’t have basic features like saving posts to read/revisit them later, doesn’t have the far superior schema of threaded/nested replies (e.g., reddit, lemmy), and isn’t convincingly secure from capture by the next Musk some day?
What can / should be done to penalise lies in politics?! The damage is immense and its control isn’t the answer. Moral constraints and constructs aren’t sufficient deterrents- so what is?
Here's mine! Given the likely fragmented social-media landscape for the foreseeable -- possibly forever, now -- landscape, which platform do you think will be the predominant one for news (both for journalists & outlets to post to as well as for news consumers)? And why do you think that?
Thank you! As a journalist trying to navigate the newly fragmented social space, I'm really curious. But I think a number of news consumers would be interested in finding out, too!
Can you talk about if AI generated content is actually profitable? Or if having an AI - based business is actually sustainable given the costs to maintain data centers?
What do you make of the great bluesky migration of 2024. The Xodus. Does this signal a larger, more significant shift in The Discourse or is it ephemeral?
Seems like the only way to make it work is completely disengage on X. Will we be able to make this a durable transition?
You seem to have confused yourself. You ask if someone like Musk could buy BSky - sure they can. Then you proclaim that a big enough offer couldn’t be refused. Perhaps you don’t understand how words work?
There's been a lot of liberal handwringing over the absence of a left-wing blogosphere or alternate media space to reach disaffected youth, and especially young men, but no proposed solutions. Where/how would you envision such spaces developing and succeeding for progressive ideas?
With the increased public "paling around" visibility of Trump and Musk, where is JD Vance? NOT A PEEP about him since the election! I haven't heard about any of his involvement in these "choice" cabinet picks.
given the prevalence of AI in job screening and the recent rise in "ghost jobs" at many prevalent companies, what do you think is the future of work, and how do you think people these days can best be noticed by companies they are interested in?
Who do you think are the aliens among us? according to the senate hearing on UAPs, which stated that non human intelligences are among human populations.
Why should those deemed breeder cows by the state, that lack protections afforded others by the constitution, have to pay taxes? Shouldn't the owners of the meat bags have to pay for the chattel /cattle?
Is the Venn diagram of people who claim the brilliance of AI and yesteryear’s “pivot to video” shouters actually a circle? And, follow up, how do these braying idiots and hype junkies sleep at night knowing they destroyed journalism and democracy? Was it worth whatever price they sold out for?
