AOC gets it. Dems have been gaming the pendulum. Incumbents know that they are in line for windfalls when the pendulum swings back, and selling out their base is SOP.

The GOP otoh, rightly fears their base, and fights hard when out of power.

It is time to teach the Dems a lesson in respect.

Which is why I've always respected Pelosi for making her caucus vote for Waxman-Markey in 2009 even though it had no chance in the Senate and hurt the reelection prospects of a dozen or more Blue Dogs.

That, I assume, is why Sunrise treats her as a big hero of the climate change fight.

People like winners and fighters. If you can't be a winner, then you better damn sure look like a fighter. It's very basic, but voters respond to a vague notion about "guts" and "gumption," that no amount of well crafted policy or comms can ever convey.
