Apart from this being wrong, apart from it fuelling Reform support, this framing is so deeply insulting to immigrants already here. We *chose* to come here to give our skills to the UK (for which UK paid nothing), to make our contributions etc here. I am done being sh*t on by every Govt.

His qualifications were not recognised here, and he ended up, in low paid jobs.
Many times, he was physically, and verbally abused.
🙄
Good luck with that one.
You're right, Tanja, this is unbelievably insulting to all working migrants.
So @teamlabouruk.bsky.social can go and fuck itself. All they do is line up Reform to be the next government, but are too stupid to see it.
You, and everyone else who have chosen to make the UK home, and who have given so much, deserve better. And we don’t deserve you.
At least I’m sure the EU won’t lower itself to retaliating against British residents in Spain, Italy or France.
No wonder he wants a trade deal with Trump.
But are you the brand, or is your biz? 🤔

This is Starmer’s “queue-jumper” moment.
Genuinely livid to be treated like this again.
I truly wish all immigrants in the UK could stop working for a couple of days or so. Then we can have another chat about it all after that.
Small minds, closed minds. They'll never learn.
All of this is illiterate policy making.
It will not help a single community in the UK.
It will make the situation worse, esp in care sector and HE — two sectors already imploding.
Care providers have had funding squeezed and cut to a degree that threatens the viability of many providers.
Soc care has had a crisis of recruitment for decades. But one can get a job in soc care with no previous experience or qualifications.
Seems plan is to force people with disabilities off benefits to care for disabled people.
It’s populist BS.
And, if this continues, will deliver a Reform Govt.
Awful doesn’t even begin to cover it.
And that’s before we get to the fact that the UK desperately needs *more* immigrants. We are part of the solution, not the problem.
They are sensitive little snowflakes when they are not calling for asylum seekers be burned alive.
We are heading for a Trump-style dictatorship under slimeball conman Farage.
Well done Starmer!
Recently attended an activist meeting for the Left.
The number of immigrants (justifiably) abandoning Labour is remarkable.
Here in Wales a surge of support for Plaid Cymru may be related to this, as well as general disappointment over welfare cuts.
I’ve always felt immigrants to this country have made it a rich, diverse tapestry. We would be poorer in every respect if they weren’t here or decided to go.
Starmer needs to get off the ReformUK bandwagon!
I think it's the usual (deliberate) confusion/conflation of invited/discretionary migration, refugees/asylum seekers and illegal/overstaying migrants.
