Like, I wouldn’t call ransacking the MTA a “centrist” act, especially when he did it to bail out some ski resorts. Cuomo is Trump insofar as being an ideological void in it for power and self-enrichment.
imo Bloomberg is right wing in the old fashioned finance way, while Cuomo is right wing in the "I'm going to commit crime to enrich myself and have fun! what are you going to do about it, cry?" kind of way
I don’t hate Bloomberg the way I despise Cuomo. Bloomb was a Dem for a long time, then a Republican (to run for Mayor), then Independent, and he’s Dem again now for lack of a better alternative (even though he’s always been rather racist too). Bloomb at least clearly liked NYC itself, as a city.
Cuomo is an opportunistic authoritarian wannabe autocrat who has to destroy anyone who dares disagree with him; Bloomb seems at least like he’s willing to discuss policy and figure out how to get beneficial results (though I may disagree with him on which goals are worthwhile or correct).
