I don't like BBC, I've searched the same news on another source but thanks for the precious tip. I believe Mother Earth is a living being, non organic life, as all other planets but even more so for nourishing all of us with our dear Sun and our Moon:-)
Even the great science desk at BBC is susceptible to repeating fallacies tho: half of the oxygen we breathe came from the ancient oceans of earth. The oxygen produced by our ocean today is used by up marine life before it can be respired by us land dwellers.
