I think if Detroit wasn’t coming off a complete raid of their coaching cupboards we would be a destination Garrett would consider. That’s a bit more murky now.

There wouldn’t be a team in the league unwillingly to give that up for Garret. Think more along the lines what the Rams gave up for Stafford plus more because Garret is still relatively young in comparison to Staff.

2 firsts and probably a combination of seconds and thirds across multiple years.

Defensive players haven't really been getting that return though? Unless I'm forgetting something. I've been on vacation for 5 days, so totally possible 😂. I'm not saying other teams wouldn't beat that offer either, just not sure it makes sense to do more than that.

Premium defensive position, for a player in the midst of their prime who has won a DPOY award on a team not known for being a defensive juggernaut who will be under control of the team trading for him for a minimum of 2 years.

Not disagreeing with any of that. Just can't think of a similar defensive player getting that recently. I'm certainly aware of how freaking good the dude is. Seems like when teams have given up multiple first rounders for defensive players, they end up regretting it.

It’s always a risk, and Garret brings an injury history along with his game changing abilities. A team will have to weigh both the costs to acquire him and the costs to sign him to an extension. IMHO the competition in our division and conf is getting better and playing it safe isn’t good enough.
