Running the 'save money' line is, frankly, silly. And the evidence on 'longer-term decision making' seems weak. We now have all the states as examples (Queensland just ended its first 4-year term). Where have we observed this claimed benefit?
All it has done is given the major parties more certainty they can rort the public purse and be unaccountable for longer.
Our real concerns are: transparency, lobbyists, and getting big money out of politics.
