I felt more nervous before the Wolves game. Teams battling relegation are notoriously tricky to play. Add in the fatigue from the emotion of Goodison and it was a real banana skin.
Villa away will never be easy but Liverpool are a better team. I hope they prove it again tonight.
As will be the case in every game from here on out as we go on a historic losing streak and finish on 61 points. Because we are not allowed nice things and the 90s and 00s conditioned us.
My reckoning is that if we got into the international break with an 8 point lead then we're unbelievably well placed. So that allows us a draw in the next 4 on the basis that Arsenal drop against Forest/United/Chelsea.
Useful that they're a very emotional side and fanbase too. If we win during a weekend where they drop points, they'll go in to total meltdown. Hopefully Nottingham Forest do their Robin Hood tribute act and grab a point or three against them.
I've worried that we're showing signs of emotions lately, hopefully that doesn't seep in. If we had the same collapse from here as last year we'd still get 85 points, that means Arsenal would need to run at 2.5pts a game just to match us and thats 10 wins + 2 Draws from 13, seems improbable
We are the best team in the world. Stop being a melt.
Thank God most people don’t get to go to the matches, the crowd would just sound like cats bawling and cryarsing.
“Oh my nerves, I can’t look, there is another team on the pitch, a team with 12 first teamers out, how will we cope?”
Apologies Dave, I'll refrain from being nervous for a football game in your presence again. My hope is to one day be as clearly well adjusted as you are.
Nervous? This constant nonsense, not just from you, but from a wealth of Liverpool fans. When Hodgson was in charge I hated everything about how we set up & played, but still went into a game believing we could win.
Now every game we play people cryarse about how scared they are.
In the 3 home premier league games they’ve played this year they’ve beaten Leicester 2-1 and drawn with West Ham and Ipswich (who played 50 mins with 10 men)

They’re much less worried about the run in than I am
Besides that, there is no team he's managed 10+ games against that he has a worse record against. Managed to win myself over in the end.

Saka/Martinelli are back in March = 2-3 games
W Ham bad
Utd v bad
Forest who’re conceding more recently
Their defence keeps them in every game, set pieces + bits & bobs from Merino etc should be enough
City were good with no striker

We are Liverpool.
…hope that helps
I needed that
They also don’t have much to play for in the league really. We’re also due a big performance after the last two
