I’ve been refreshing it lately on the podcast app wondering why there were no new episodes. I loved The Unexplained and really enjoyed his voice. He brought me pleasure while I worked. I’ll miss his voice.
Mine was to fall asleep to, but I would always rewind to the last point I remembered so not to miss anything, I found it hard to sleep for a week after that last episode haha
I was gutted when the show went into hiatus. I recall he had an ear injury and fire at his house in recent months. Such a shame but it’s been nice to see how well thought of he was with listeners and colleagues.
He was always a ray of sunshine when he was on overnights. Here's Clive and I starting 'Through the night', the overnight phone-in as featured on a C4 documentary and Howard finishing the LBC weather.
Yes Andrew. I think he was at Capital for quite a few years with Chris. He really was a ray of sunshine overnight at LBC. Great DJ voice but could deliver news with authority and punch too
I once sold Howard a holiday in Going Places in Richmomd.
I didn't have a clue who he was until a few minutes of chatting and me trying to work out why I knew the voice. A real gentleman.
I only knew him from his podcast called The Unexplained, but man, what a warm and generous personality, and he had maybe the best voice ever for radio and podcasts. Fantastic voice. He approached the subjects of UFOs and other paranormal or mainstream topics in a very grounded and logical way.
He was very gracious to his fans. I got an email response from him, not long after Art Bell passed away. My understanding is that Art approached him about taking over his show, MITD, but HH was unable to make it work.
I very much enjoyed Howard’s podcast, The Unexplained. He will be missed!
That is so sad, became aware of his Saturday night radio show 20 years ago , and followed and listened to the best podcasts on the web each week.
Hopefully someone will keep his podcasts available to remember his legacy and professionalism
RIP Howard
Really sad. He was great with Chris Tarrant on capital radio back in the day.
Also remember waking up to his voice announcing the death of Princess Diana. He had a great voice and always set the right mood
A radio legend. My wife recently became a friend of his and I was really looking forward to the opportunity of meeting him one day. The very best radio voice. EVER. #RIPHowardHughes x
