I wish these legislators would actually take a look at what addiction-gambling or other--does to a person, their life, their family, their _world_. It's like they just brush it aside "oh, we'll create a hotline people can call if they're having trouble".

I do a ton of work for gambling addiction NPs in IL, legalization has really been an abrupt & horrific change.

The large percentage of people (majority younger men) completely destroying their finances probably has some political externalities.

Against the Rules podcast just did a season on sports gambling. Very informative. If you're good at gambling, they literally do not want you. But if you lose they welcome you with open arms. Again and again.

I'm just open mouthed, wide eyed, appalled by legalizimg gambling apps MN. Any of these legislators have phones in their pockets? Do they have children with phones? Have they been watching these devices warp people's brains the last 15 years? We want to make them 24/7 pocket casinos? This is insane.

I listened to the Against the Rules podcast series on this. The apps are even worse than I thought. Not only do they prey on clear problem gamblers, but they figure out who the successful gamblers are and just expel them from playing. MN is one of the last holdouts unfortunately
