Morning. Windy & chilly out there.
Weekly food forage & cuppa with parents this morning.
More spring cleaning & sorting out this afternoon.
Have a good day all❤️❤️
Good morning all. Just had 24 hours out with a nasty bug of some sort. Still exhausted, but need to get back on track today. Watched pt 2 of Lucy Worsley’s series on the Notre Dame renovation last night. So amazing, although skimped on the internal decor, which was a pity. Have a great day all.
Morning. Feeling sad and missing my dad, it would have been his 81st birthday today. The fact that I can’t be with my mum and sister, and can’t go to visit his grave makes it harder. Will be lighting candles here for him, and having his favourite tipple with my dinner later. Hug your loved ones 🧡
Big hugs to you…
It’s indeed difficult being far away at times like these.
Candles and tipple it is. A good way of remembering and thinking of all the good moments.
Good morning all. After a successful swap of old/new sofas yesterday, and a trip to the shops for curtains, I now need somehow to incentivise OH to put up the curtain poles 😄 I’m sure that will be far more successful than the other task I have this morning - to book a GP appointment 😱
This is my current issue. ‘Blood test abnormal, see the doctor’. I can interpret most things but this could be minor (I’m sure it will be), or potentially horrendous and needing attention, so 🤷♀️ They are brilliant, though - currently tracking down a GP to ask them.
Our surgery is fabulous in many respects but like many they really struggle with the routine. Blood tests back - text to say see a doc, but can’t give you an appointment. If I rang to say I needed a same day, I’d be seen, so they’re brilliant at that 🙏. I may just email them.
One great doctor that I fear may have left already as might have been in training, dealt with that by text as often only ‘x is an out of range result so we will retest in 2 months’. Saved so much hassle.
Morning ORCs. Slept wonderfully deep like a log. Nice bit of rain overnight, very mild and now rumbling thunder in the distance. Bee b&b is nearly full and sudden air attacks ensued for space so invested in Bee Hilton Hotel but they are hesitant. Will make sign ‘free bee’. Enjoy today! #SlavaUkraini
Good morning Caroline, morning Orcs everywhere. Dull but dry in the Fens, don't think there can be any rain left in the clouds after yesterday 😂
A pottering kind of day to day, one where you wonder where the time went 😀
Morning Caroline, morning all. How are we doing? Had a lovely long catch up with a great friend over coffee and dim sum yesterday. Today looks beautiful, breakfast with hubbie, then a chat with long distance best mate.
Cold and rainy yesterday afternoon / evening but sunny again this morning. I like spring 2025. Well, I like the weather... other stuff in the world is not so likeable! Best wishes for Wednesday - I'm planning to make some wild garlic pesto this morning.
Bonjour mes ORCs!
A bit grey here in ye old Appeville town. But tea is served & the furries fed. A trip up to Cherbourg & Le Grand Frais today. Still recovering from the trip to the UK, it's just SO peopley! Eyes down for Easter now, 8 for lunch on Sunday! Have fun folks!
It was so good. A selection of songs from their very early days of discovering folk music right through to their own compositions of today. Then there’s always the banter 😅
Late on parade today … finally have wifi and am on the ferry on a surprisingly bouncy crossing to deliver a car to Calais. Just heard a bang, there go the bow doors probably! 🌊🛳️🌊
Présent!
The # search was lower than older ORCs so I missed it.
Hump day today - though for most of us there will be a long WE.
W Yorks weather: mostly grey, wet overnight, the odd sun rays and mild temps.
My @38degrees.bsky.social Bee Seeds arrived. Donation follows.
Have a great day all!
I’ll put them in some plant pots…later today (WFH).
Try and give them a good chance to germinate and grow, rather than be munched by birds and/or slugs.
Morning orcs, morning SC! Apart from car to garage, nice morning ahead, walk & coffee with good friend, but must do food shop later. Hoping to catch up on overdue correspondence & NOT spend so much time on work today!
Tap was v good, did the ironing listening to podcasts.
Morning Caroline, morning all ☕️
We had rain overnight (I’m told, didn’t hear it) but it’s sunny now and a nice, dry day is forecast. Good for Wednesday walk. Numbers depleted this week due to holidays and visiting families, but we select few
- six I think - will enjoy
Watched the first 2 episodes/
/of Years and Years last night 😱
It was first broadcast in 2019 but feels incredibly, scarily, Now! It also feels like a political comment to rebroadcast it right now. Brave of the BBC if so.
Anyway - very enjoyable in a 😬 sort of way
I’m catching up with all sorts of TV gems I never saw pre-Covid
We’ve been doing the same through iPlayer, although ours are mostly art or archeology (nothing too scary). I’m not sure I’m brave enough to watch Years and Years again, although perhaps I might …
Ditto with, eg, Digging for Britain
Oh - and Detectorists! What a lockdown delight that was. We had it lined up again for if we got the January blues, but didn’t need it. Winter 25/26 perhaps
It’s an amazing series and I am glad they are showing it again.
Ann’s monologue ‘you did that’ is supurb. (Can’t remember which episode it’s on).
Enjoy.
Thanks..unfortunately can't get it on French Netflix yet. Hopefully it will come soon. We just watched Black Mirror. I never saw any of the original episodes but some episodes in the new series had a little too much plausibility for my liking.
Bonjour les Orcs!
Rain, rain and more (much needed) rain here. D1 will be delighted as it’s bringing the morels out.
I’m happy, as I managed to do most of the weeding on sunny Monday and garden will start growing like wildfire now, I just need a break to finish planting. (Is that ever finished ?)
Morning all. Off to badminton, then a short walk with OH & lunch in cafe where he can have his favourite Welsh Rarebit. Delighted to have received an email from someone who lives in the same road as my family did in 1950s & who therefore enjoyed reading https://www.amazon.co.uk/dp/B0C8Y4RMHV/
There’s a clear sky outside, although a minute ago there were some very red clouds. Out to a local appointment this morning, groceries delivery later, then a clear diary for ten days. Woe betide anything that happens to spoil that empty space! Happy Hump Day, one and all.
Enjoy every minute of that blank diary
Doesn’t look like the weather will be perfect but showery weather will stop you doing too much per garden session
Buenas, up early for us as it's a bit nippy here in Marbella and the campsite cockerel is doing his thing near our van. Moving up the coast to Nerja today to meet up with some friends who are on holiday there. Tapas and cocktails are on the agenda. Have a lovely day, ORCs .
And, of course, a short stop en route to visit the Tesco/Iceland/Waitrose shop in Fuengirola for Yorkshire teabags, baked beans, black & white puddings and other stuff that we can't get in France.
Morning all. Looking a bit grey outside but can see a glimmer of sun and solar panels are making more electricity than we're using so that's a bonus. Must do some tidying up of the spare bedroom as son coming at weekend. Husband has trashed it while taking down and replastering the hall ceilings 😱
Good morning all. Such a good night with The Young ‘Uns yesterday, so much laughter.
Woken up to rain, already on my second mug of tea! Housework to be done.. I find it such a waste of time! Do I have a trip to Aldi today, or procrastinate and leave it until tomorrow?
I detest housework - it's satisfying to have a clean room but unless I seal it up with clingfilm over the doors and windows, it's dusty and dog-hairy again a few days later. I heard something on the radio about reaching maximum dirt and then it doesn't get any worse. I'm considering an experiment. 😉
I’ve been running that experiment since 2008 and now have help, a robot hoover and a lovely steam cleaner. Putting away in the right place continues to be an issue however if I’m not watchful.
Good morning all. Well the dodgy weather yesterday did not keep people away from the market.. it was our busiest Tuesday of the year so far. Will we get more of the same today? Lots of deliveries to wrangle so I’d better get a move on.
Morning 😊 Been awake since around 5 so feeling tired. Got some extra reading done though so wasn’t wasted time - I am reading a long book which I found difficult to get into (Shantaram) and will be glad to get it finished! 📖
Bore da cariads.
Amazing thunder and lightning last night, having poured down all day. I think the garden has had enough now.
Off to work later, crafting with the kids in the toy dept.
Off to London at the weekend, as we have a date at the O2 with Jeff Wayne.
Cwtches to all that need one. X
Friend from Ireland texted concern about what we might be in store for us, but we just had rain overnight & rather than windy. Not much rain yesterday in spite of forecast. With luck dry today for planned walk!
Morning Caroline and all. Grim day yesterday spent in front of the fire with the Marlow Murder Club, all I could cope with. Hoping for an improvement today.
Have a good day.
(I really like the MMC - it's daft and unrealistic... but just we decided sometimes simple, pleasant telly really hits the spot. I liked another series on (I think) Drama - The Chelsea Detective)
I grew up in the village next to Marlow so it’s interesting to see. Sure I know the cafe they use and love being reminded of it all.
Like the gentle series such as CD and Brockenwood.
Thanks. More gentle jobs to make sure we are photo ready but I can strictly pace today.
Would rather be outside as puts it all in perspective so hoping the weather allows.

Watch out for that exhaustion/ fatigue & make sure you get plenty of rest. It's becoming more difficult to ignore & could mean a permanent state

I listen to podcasts which helps a lot. Need to find some more gripping ones!
Happy humpday and all that good stuff

It'll be 25°C before you know it. Have a good day... even if it's not the one you planned. 😉
Enjoy ⛄️
