I’m begging the media to call Nazi salutes … “Nazi salutes.” You can write “he gave a Nazi salute.” That’s the proper journalism. Describe things as they are even if people get mad.

The “they’ll get sued” angle to me is also just surprising. A) go fucking win that case then, you geeks; and B) if you can’t even do that, at least caveat it to hell.
A gesture that looks like a nazi salute.
What many are calling a Nazi salute.
A gesture nearly identical to those used by Nazis.
Yes and they need to say this clearly in the headline/post, not alluded to in the 10th paragraph somewhere. Because how many readers actually look beyond the headline?
I think they fear Rush Limbaugh is gonna rise from his grave and call them the liberal media if they ever print anything that makes conservatives look bad.
Only AP reported with the correct headline. All others failed, led by the NYT "hand gesture" idiocy. I don't need a journalist to describe what I see, but what I shouldn't overlook.
If they get mad because real journalists call it what it is, a Nazi salute, maybe they should have thought twice and not actually did it. That way there'd be nothing to get mad about.
Then when and if they do
Let’s support them.
Anytime they take a stand against what is wrong or stand with truth let’s support them.
For example CBS is trying to take a stand in a current lawsuit against T.
ABC cowered support CBS
I'd go for the "Heil Hitler" salute, but only because Musk etc would mock anyone suggesting they are "national socialists". Hitler wasn't either (he & the AfD German leader did that recently), but socialist rhetoric got him voters & weakened opposition. Trump etc are at best billionaire socialists.
To be fair there are also the options of the "Hitler salute" and "sieg heil." All three of these labels are effective in naming an outward display of someone's Nazi sentiments.
Dude, both the The Media and this administration are in cahoots, and their intentions are to make as much chaos as possible so that they can play the moral arbitors
I checked NYT, WaPo, Politico and Axios and none of them appear to have a story about Bannon doing the nazi salute. Not only will they not call it what it is, they don't want people to know about it *at all*.
I know “speak comfort or at least ambiguity to power” what kids these days are learning in J school, but I just feel like you can describe things as they are
As a former publisher, I would stress that the hesitancy to call a nazi salute a nazi salute is also due to the Peter Thiel factor. It's expensive to run a media company by itself without having to defend a lawsuit by oligarchs with an axe to grind and millions ready to burn to prove a point
It’s funny the media is reluctant to call it a Nazi salute when all participants, those throwing it, the audience to whom it’s meant, seem enthusiastic about it. Why deny them their moment in the sun by watering it down?

Going bankrupt on lawsuits now is at least marginally better than going bankrupt when you’re robbed in 2-6 months.
