Well, yes & no. In middle grade, the people making purchases are gatekeepers (parents/teachers/librarians). If teachers/librarians *can't* acquire those books, *sales* are dead in the water. It's just as well I'm getting out of MG (the most affected category); I'm in this to make a living.

I totally understand. And it is tragic to have such hateful and spiteful people calling themselves adults. But that’s probably why the kids need the books.

BTW your middle grade is great and thought provoking in ways beyond representation that it would be tragic for kids to be denied exposure to

This makes me so sad and furious. As the parent of three kids who have graduated from middle-grade, I feel so bad for the kids who are coming up behind them that aren't going to get material that challenges and speaks honestly to them. Makes me want to become a guerilla book distributor.

Thanks. I mean, this has been coming for some time, but the commercial/career pressures are real. Just imagine! If I wrote books that were all het all the time and had no queer/trans/nonbinary/??? characters in them, I might still sell books in middle grade! *facepalm*

Yeah. I mean, obvs I feel like trash but it's not just about *my* books, it's about ALL the books and ALL the readers and ALL the authors/creators that are affected by this nonsense.
