Was it ever a 'Single market'?

NI operated as a separate entity to GB for almost a century, but suddenly it must be treated as an integral and indivisible part of the system.

As a small business I've stopped sending to NI now just as I had already stopped sending to EU a 3 years ago. Too much beurocracy involved after Windsor Framework kicked in 2024. Funny how Tories set Brexit to go off in stages so to make Brexit not to appear like the complete clusterf*ck that it is.

Same experience here. I used to order overnight from the EU and despatch the next day to anywhere in the EU.

Can't be done now.

Stopped doing online sales completely. Not worth it as PayPal gives refunds before the goods turn up for free.

Brexit is a crap idea, badly implemented.

With NI it was simple until this 2024 now with Windsor Framework, allowing sending to NI as long as value was <£120GBP otherwise customs required. Simple. Now we are supposed to register with HMRC, assess potential for every order ending up in ROI (via NI) & take calls from HMRC to ? our dilligence.

and they still aren't doing customs checks on food entering UK. They have passed two deadlines for it, but fear the consequences of slowing food down (additional cost and availability). But the food cmoing in doesn't need to meet any EU standards now and noone is checking it. So quality nosedives.

I lost 5% of my sales when I stopped shipping internationally & EU due to brexit beurocracy. Now with the Windsor framework this year I stopped selling to NI. Govt wants us to register with HMRC, assess risk of every order ending up in ROI, and be contactable by HMRC to assess our dilligence. Crazy.

As absurd as a border in the Irish Sea is, it is the least worse response to the opposing pull of the Good Friday Agreement and Brexit. I’m sure we all want to comply with the terms of the Good Friday agreements so a border in the Irish Sea is, as was known in 2016, caused by the idiocy of Brexit!
