None of this lonely sycophancy, negotiating and risk would be happening if it weren’t for Brexit. It’s backed us into a corner, forcing us to spend huge amounts of time and resource trying to pick up scraps and protect our best interests.

There is no point in pretending Brexit’s a good thing, worth protecting, either. Time to start properly and boldly fixing the mess, not treating the mess like it’s a win.

The problem is that her initial answer to the question was "Yes."
A non story.
However (golden mean?) would it not have been easy enough for her to add a simple modification, on the lines of: "Well, we don't need to learn from Mr Trump, BUT -"?
There’s now a need to juggle toxic Trump with our strained relationship with the EU. And pursuing the country’s best interests with the rightwing media howling in the background is going to be a nightmare.
It's fear of losing votes to reform and nothing else
Like or loathe him you've got to be in awe of what farage has accomplished
He's done the most harm to the economy, country and it's inhabitants since the black plague
It was the perfect opportunity to put the tories in the wilderness and the libs in opposition to drag labour left
Instead the votes went to reform plc and the millionaires grip only tightens
Exhausting
Family Brexithead trotted this out recently. 10 mins of pressing on which rules they meant resulted in "rules on how tall buildings can be".
Honestly.
And never an explanation why other countries get stuff done despite the same rules.
(Same question to those of us living in the UK)
We should be expanding our own food production, investing in smaller businesses, green economy & preparing for climate resilience
But the headline: "UK should learn from Donald Trump’s ‘boosterism’, Rachel Reeves says"
Someone has to wipe up the Tory mess, , what did you expect? Sorry, you’ve been hijacked by the Tory media machine.
Despite what you may read, Reeves is a highly competent Chancellor who understands economics unlike the hopeless Tory chancellors since the equally hopeless Johnson became PM.
Anyone who has ever watched a TV documentary about wolves will know that rarely ends well
All that Russian money to the Tories, who’d have thought it 🤔
I believed in what he stood for but the government isn’t shaping up and I am bitterly disappointed and sad
