This is good news but the NSF director should never have paused all funds to begin with. Other agencies found ways to comply without shutting down all funding. He should resign.

Yes indeed. Which I think underscores the main takeaway even more: lawsuits matter. Unis need to be prepared to start filing lawsuits to upload the law when NSF starts terminating grants on this basis.

Universities tend to be “wait and see” kinds of places but the award revocations are starting to trickle out and that will likely get them banding together to sue.
