Will be interesting to see if this airline will become a target for takeover by IAG. A kind of flybe, but in reverse…. I think they are already starting to use Avios as their frequent-flier currency, aren’t they?

It’s very Flybe-ish. But for a route that used to be served 7 times a day, it’s great to have Southampton back. But strange they added a SOU base to enable them to open 2 MAN routes, but I’m sure there’s a method to their madness somewhere.

Historically most of BA Cityflyer crew lived in Edinburgh - their planes are also maintained there. That’s why there was several very early morning EDI - LCY flights all leaving in the space of an hour or two.

Perhaps a similar setup for Loganair.

MAN is also pretty short of overnight parking spaces as the rebuild happens and early take off slots are at a premium. It may simply be easier logistically to base at SOU
