I guess with the product companies as, say, a council how would you know if your contractor was using them unless you specially banned it in their contract?

Did it need the Procurement Act 2023 to come into force? If so, that seems a big oversight in previous legislation. Or maybe this was a victim of bonfire of red tape until 2023 Act.

A very long wait for any kind of justice (and for remediation).

I was wondering if maybe it had to for it to become a legal valid investigation, esp one looking retrospectively? (And this why it’s taken so long - but what do I know). Also if they can investigate this why not what happened on all the other buildings

The investigation outcome that identified the companies was only published a few months back. Not sure why it took so long, but was certainly a complex web to untangle

Do you mean the final inquiry report? If so the evidence was already there from the hearings, surely enough to start the investigation?

Yes. There were very many other organisations identified as sharing some blame during the inquiry but as I understand it, was only the final report that singled out the seven whose actions were considered particularly bad, and suggesting barring from government contracts.

It's all nice and all, but I need at least 20 people who earned more than £100000/yr, was obviously a decision maker in relevant parts of council, state or company to die in prison. Not for vengeance, but for prevention.
