😂😂😂… yeah I often tend to take contrarian mindset when I shoot very famous spots. I refused myself to shoot the classic comp and did only different angles. We see the bend partly in some shots tho.

yeah I try to do the same at popular spots but struggle at it and mostly end up taking the "classic" shot ...and later anger myself that I have taken a photo a thousand others have taken as well. good to see you are more successful at this tactic 🤣!

Oh you did, it’s just a question of perspective. This pano is shot close to the ground, but it’s the same view you have when walking along the bend.
The void part is just behind the midground, so basically you see the top of the cliffs of the bend in background.

That classic view is great to 😊. what I meant is I knew before arriving I wanted to try capture something different so I went with this mindset. I found it surprising that we don’t see more “alternative” images from there cause the spot i found the spot being really rich of compositional elements

Forgive me for asking this question. I don't understand why people try to take beautiful photos like yours, which involves a lot of money and hard work, and then exchange them for a few hearts and likes. Which means nothing.

Probably depends of people. Perso I’m fulltime nature photographer, social medias plays a role into spreading my work, & connect with clients for my photo workshops, prints, partnerships…etc.
But most passionate photographers would still be shooting outhere even if social medias wouldn’t exist imo 😉

I was there a few years back and shot the iconic view, but it was pretty scary on the edge of that cliff! My wife would have preferred this approach! 😂 Beautiful shot, love the colors.
