Remember, NPR was one of the first media sites to leave ExTwitter after he got mad at them and labelled them "state-affiliated media." Elon's plan has fuck all to do with "government efficiency" and everything to do with retaliation for its coverage & then leaving his platform.

The only event type that provides direct, live broadcast of audio, is an EAN. There are multiple backups for those.

I worked for NPR for five years. Total federal funding for NPR is less than 1% of their annual budget. Most comes from private endowments and listener donations.
