Mike isn’t comparing MCCain as counter to the appearance of Harris but rather explaining that the Obama administration didn’t bitch about McCain but TFG & Carr are idiots & would pretend this mattered.
But it became moot once he got his requested airtime.
The statute doesn’t require same offer or program. I’m not sure if Terry or others requested another ad or two?

Plenty of times they will use the FCC regs as a justification for their own corporate interests.
They can tell their demo it’s *out of their control* and many just believe that.
They aren’t worried as much as they are strategizing.
Think of the big players that own most local broadcast. We are talking iHeart, Nexstar, Sinclair, Audacy, etc.
Do you think they are going to fight Carr’s agenda? 🤔
And if even independent local owners? You think they are blue? Nope. Red.
They aren’t mad at all. 🤷🏻♀️
And Disney isn’t going anywhere. And Sinclair and Nexstar are not caving to that threat.
