It was two years later when someone handed me a cassette tape (which for all I know may still exist in a box in my closet) that had the OpIvy album on one side, and Skankin Pickle's debut album on the flip side, telling me I was too into NYC ska & had to learn about west coast ska... I had the same experience in 1989 at Indiana University when a future gymnastics teammate gave me a dubbed tape of Camper Van Beethoven’s “Key Lime Pie.” I didn’t know a band could be without a box. Or could do all of that.

Two great bands! Many years ago, soon after I moved to SF, I ended up traveling to Fresno to go see Let's Go Bowling... not realizing that the "show" was basically in someone's backyard. It was amazing.
