I have had this argument about a thousand times — I genuinely believe that the Very Online Left thinks that *striking* is the most important thing, not the demands they are striking to get. Like they believe that American labor is a revolutionary vanguard and not people who need to call in sick.

Largest healthcare strike in Oregon history is happening now. I recommend folks join the picket line and have conversations with nurses and providers fighting for patient safety. My husband is a nurse on the picket line and I can tell you these are life and death issues.

they were trying to openly plan a strike before contract negotiations even started and I had to remind them that some of us couldn't afford to strike without a strike fund 🙃
