*Very* dependent on which Ridge Racer you're talking about, most of the games before PSP have cool tech you can do while playing in manual (especially Rage) but from PSP onwards it's not really necessary lol

Trust me, if you drive manual in Daytona you will discover The Real Game

(and no, I'm not a MT elitist for video games! I drive automatic in almost all of them! But for Daytona it's required to unlock the actual drifting mechanic. Please try it!)
