I just watched that video clip in the article. And to be fair, the PM was led into that. He had no choice but to respond. It wld have been odd if Albo had said nothing. It wasn't an opportunity to talk abt more critical issues. A set-up, in my view. #auspol

I hate crowds and I hate sunburn, so I just take the kids out there when it's raining. Literally nobody else there so don't even have to worry about masks, and carrying an umbrella to keep the sun or the rain off is the same anyway.

I would not go to an Aussie beach in summer if shade building was not allowed.

My brown skin burns in 40C in about 20 mins… with sunscreen on (I think sweat washes it off or something).

It’s just intolerable.

As an Aussie who has a Celtic background (read fair skin) and a family history of skin problems due to sun I totally agree. Does the slip-slop-slap campaign still do something? Been away since 2001 but I remember this and do it myself when we are in the sun - even if it is not hot (Alps).

Someone asked him a question about getting to the beach early and pitching a cabana and coming back later. He answered. Big mistake. The MSM have run with it and are only using his answer out of context. It's ridiculous 😒

We bought a cabana. Haven't used it yet. Our beach visits involve arriving, dump towels, head to water. Frolic. There may be a brief return to towels to reapply sunblock or drink some water. When finished swimming it is dry off, put on towelling hoodie, drive home.
No sun baking.
