Amen. At best, it means you haven't made the effort to parse to yourself what your values are and why you object to someone. At worst, it means you actually don't like fat* people, and you're not even aware of the fact. (*or queer, female, ND, not conventionally attractive, etc.)

I used to get pushback from people on Twitter when I called them out for this. And I got even more when I'd tell people to stop mocking horrible female politicians for their bodies or fashion choices and mock them for their horrible beliefs instead.

I got kicked out of a few so called progressive Facebook groups for it, and have gotten pushback on both Twitter and here, for stuff about that guy and others. Absolutely the twin barrels of fatphobia and misogyny work together often.

I have a similar reaction to the “jokes” and hateful judgments wrt Melania’s sex worker history. There are so many legitimate reasons to dislike her and find fault, but I won’t put her down for that, it’s easily the least objectionable thing about her. if anything, it makes her more relatable
