It’s what Steve Bannon calls “Flood The Zone.” You throw as much shit at them as possible until they back down or run out of time. Just challenge everything. Don’t give them an inch without making them work for it. Democrats have a majority on the DC Circuit Courts so they have a good chance to win.

I'm taking your 'constant meltdowns' as hyperbole so, yes! People in positions of power can take the action like in that letter. Ordinary people can express their outrage and press can (should) be impressing how wild it all is.
