there is a method to make Facebook stop serving you ads altogether. It has a lengthy setup involving going through the (probably lengthy) list of "ad topics" and marking each one "show less." FB does not make this easy -

- after each topic (really a marketing list), when you click back to the list it resets to the shortened view and you have to click "Show all" again - and you have to go through every few months to catch any new topics added to the list, but it works.

Correction! The ad topics and the marketing lists are separate things! For the marketing lists you have to go into each one and deny it permission to be used to choose ads for your feed
