See, me personally when someone criticizes media I enjoy, I'm just like "yup" and move on with my life because I recognize that flawless works don't exist

Tying yourself to a piece of media you like is something we all did as kids, but past a certain age you eventually have to stop doing that, it's not healthy for people to attach their self worth to the media they consume especially when the smallest criticism towards it feels like a personal attack.
I mean I don't mind any criticism, biggest fans are usually also the biggest critics of an art piece of some sort, whether its a movie or game or what not. Like who hates Skyrim more than people who play Skyrim for thousands of hours?
I just have my own tastes, there's no objectivity in art
when someone goes "This character arc is terribly paced" but i still enjoyed it I just ignore them
sorry you felt that it sucked
I didn't
I have the most joy and whimsy here, mwahaha
xenoblade 3 was the point for me where I realized that I was capable of holding the opinion
“this work has significant structural flaws, but the core themes are so impactful to me that it’s still one of my favorite things that’s ever been made”
Me and Xenoblade 2. Its flaws are famous but that doesn’t stop it from being my inspiration for getting into making games (and also just my daily fixation for years)
It’s like public transport.
You will almost never find a bus stop directly outside your destination but the more the system is used the more stops will be built.
Ya like idk I am highly critical of all art I engage so the things I love most I'm loaded with critism for. It can be fun to talk about these things but getting mad at people dor not liking art I like is silly, if I really don't like a take blocks are free no reason to fight
What are you going to do? Tell me that Bionicle's worldbuilding was severely flawed? I know, I was there when the fandom collectively aged into enough grey matter to realize it.
Yea it’s important not to tie your identity self-worth and soul to a piece of culture. That’s just asking for trouble as you’ll become overly defensive of it.
Nothing is perfect (except cute sapphic feelgood stories, those are ad close as you can get)
counterpoint: usually people shit on things for really stupid fucking reasons and it’s not so much “i hate that you don’t like what I like” as “you’d better fix that smug, disparaging tone of yours if you’re going to say such trite and vapid things”
Flawless does not mean unethical work! Information not always means truth, is the ethics of the Media professional that will bring the truth even if not “perfect”. A sellout will always be propaganda.

Or did you? 🤨
Maybe youre just trying to "prove a point"..! 😒
GOTCHA!!! 😁
personally idc... ...im just on here BSing a bit to pass time...
Cos it sure didnt look like it... 😁
Sure he is elitist, conceited, mysogynistic, and his arc flails around constantly, BUT it's really funny watching his life collapse around him

(sarcasm referring to an actual situation I just experienced, for those unfamiliar with the context)
Flawless. Perfect. Timeless. Instant classic!
