Oh dear. Just as I was polishing off another slice of the Christmas panettone, idly wondering about calories , I saw this. I have a feeling of inevitability that this is tomorrow’s breakfast.
So good. I think I use Giada DeLaurentis' recipe, but use 1/2 as much sugar, and use the whole loaf instead of whatever it calls for. It's still excellent!
Yeah - that's what I usually do with it. As well as the usual stuff I always add some grated orange zest before cooking - it really lifts it to another level.
The Girlfriend™ received an imported Pistachio Panettone from one of her private students. We opened it for a late-night treat, and have since eaten half of it. I don't think it will last long enough to make French toast! 😄
