Severance creator Dan Erickson disagrees with you:

That's not at all believable to me. She literally tried to hang herself. Someone that would rather die than be there HAS to know their friends would still be on her side no matter the reveal.
Her friends would if they thought it was her. If you believe that she’s the outie how is it not conceivable to you that those same friends of Helly couldn’t come to the same conclusion that you did that she’s Helly’s outie.
