It appears that on this platform, reacting/loving a post gives the writer/creator/author feedback and dopamine (yay!), but the only thing that helps other people see it is sharing.
Some of us came from platforms where reactions increased reach. Seems like that's a nope here. Shares increase reach.

Also, feeds can limit reposts and replies (can't remember if that's the default or not) which is why a lot of folks engage each other via quote skeets rather than replies. At least that's been my experience. Took awhile to get used to, and I'm not sure I'm even describing it correctly 😅

You can repost & quote which is shaing.. Reactions refer to the like button which on fb is Smile/Care/Arger/... That'd be nice here except that this platform, built for efficiency only needs 1 bit (1/8th of a byte) to store a like. Reaction needs the whole byte.

~sharing matters for reach among your non-feed friendship/collegial/community

- likes matter bc they are a form of communication
- likes matter bc they increase reach
- reposts matter bc they increase reach
- like and repost anything you want people to see
- don't be afraid to repost *yourself* at different peak hours to increase your own reach
