So, alongside the proposals for a new approach to development and nature recovery that we set out in a working paper last year, we intend to implement a new system of Environmental Outcomes Reports.
These reports will provide for a simpler, clearer, and more efficient means of assessing the potential environmental effects of relevant plans and major consents. We will publish a roadmap for the delivery of EORs in the coming months.
Finally, we made clear in July last year that we intended as ministers to make speedier decisions and we’ve done so, with over 90% made on time. We’re determined to maintain this performance throughout the Parliament.
We have moved quickly over the past seven months to overhaul the planning system but there is much more to do and we intend to sustain the pace as we deliver on the government’s Plan for Change.
