The government is busy - but the work is not being reported. From banning toxic pesticides to funding green jobs, here are 20 things that happened last week.

It’s *almost as if* our media is owned by a handful of nondom billionaires & therefore reflects a narrative of benefit to nondom billionaires isn’t it?
Exactly they might be doing stuff but #Labour are avoiding the really strategic and important stuff. #Starmer clearly has a radical policy avoidance o'meter on his desk. If it goes above luke warm it's a no no.. PR. HOL Reform. Etc
Balance is desperately needed from our media. All we ever hear is the not so good stuff and even see them blamed for things that happened before they came into Govt. Unfortunately no one has a magic wand, it takes time and patience.
While energy companies, banks and supermarkets are making me poorer and there's shit in our rivers and children live in poverty and pensioners eat or heat and Waspi women are denied compensation and they refuse to tax the rich or stop tax evasion or prosecute corrupt Tories and support Israel...
Should be on here too. But even the MSM has had to give this headline some airing - through gritted teeth and a few ‘buts’ thrown in for good measure too, of course.
Very thankful for this piece. I'm no great supporter of the Labour party (having been a member for 15 years previously) because Brexit, Gaza and lurching to the right.
But - good work needs recognition else we get less of it and helps sustain a bit of faith that some good is still possible.
Johnson spaffed millions on a silly news room. Why are they not using it everyday to rub his nose in it and show a government in action, unlike his parasitic tenure.
Some of this stuff is DEEPLY ungood when you give it anything more than a cursory glance tho.
eg this 👇 is basically Reeves's "fuck the newts, just build shit", and the Lowestoft one is about supporting a Freeport (which is one of the things potentially screwing our EU return) etc etc.
This should be the case. I understand they don’t want to feed Musk’s poisonous narrative by leaving X, but they can bulk post on several socials… They need a more proactive comms team.
But people do… they expect action & resolution in 6 months 🙄. This example ⬇️ is the sort of headline that should be banned. I didn’t see Torygraph blaming the last Govt who were in for 14 years… but 6 months of Starmer and it’s his fault for not sorting it in weeks.
The high price of electricity is not down to this government.
Most people who need WFA still get it, but if you were one of those only just above the income threshold perhaps Citizens Advice could suggest what to do to get the help you need. It’s good that people who don’t need it don’t get it.
Not easy within 6 months of taking over. Perhaps they’ll achieve that in the longer term but existing vested interests are fighting back with the help of a lot of the media.
It's all rather thin gruel though isn't it , especially when you balance it up with their support of the Gaza genocide, their continuing far right attacks on the vulnerable trans community, their televised deportations, their cowardly approach to trumpian fascism etc etc etc
Disabled people still worried about their PIP stopping & their bank accs being scrutinised. Desperate migrants still face refusal of citizenship & televised performative cruelty. Children still living in poverty as CB cap remains. Old people still choosing between heat/food in this freezing winter.

Where are the big ideas? Rejoin the EU, abolish House of Lords, tax properly the super rich, incentivise entrepreneurs, renationalise utilities.
Very positive if true, but I haven't confirmed if it's numberwang yet. Frustratingly though, they only provided links to share it on Insta and X. 🤦♂️

They really need to up their game on comms.
