Arne Slot has nullified Darwin Nunez. The No9 isn't getting many chances, he's no longer a reliable goal threat and he's stopped creating for others. He's doing a *job* for the team out of possession but it's like using double-sided sticky tape to hang a picture when you ideally need a nail.

This happens less and less as teams park the bus.
I’m in the ‘I love his effort but I’d like more end product’ camp for sure.
At least he helped in the build-up...
Second season onwards his scoring rate dropped badly and he was basically picked on the basis of his work off the ball and holding it up. Which is now what we are getting off Nunez - sometimes...
I will say he needs to stay, though. All the reports said the next manager must unlock Nuñez, and should still be the case
He had 13 games at the back end of last season where the only goal was off his arse
There was a moment last night Diaz had the ball breaking it was 3 v 3 & Darwin made a stupid run into 2 of their CBs, leaving no option & killed the attack
Has he “nullified” Nunez, or does he not alter the system to specifically suit him?
Whereas I see it as he’s working a system which doesn’t necessarily allow Nunez to thrive.
I get he’s playing differently under Slot, and off-the-ball he’s been really good this season, but on it he remains utterly infuriating and simply not the level. And last night - good God; a joker of a display in all aspects.
Sorry but can’t do this with Darwin anymore. He’s had long enough and simply can not or will not improve his level to a level that’s acceptable. He tried, we tired, but time to accept it hasn’t worked.
We need two strikers in the summer hahahah 😂😂😂😂
Whichever one you discount (I think he has to score both), he missed at least one more absolute sitter last night.
Just hard to see he should be our #9
