After thirty years of valiant service, I’ve finally retired the pair of Timberland boots I bought when I started grad school in 1994.
Feels weird to wear a pair that doesn’t need a little superglue but here we are.

They weren't wrong.
30yrs... My best tough waterproof leather boots are done within 6months, maybe a year.
Do you not leave the house?
😳😂😂
I've a pair of £100 work boots I bought in October that are already falling apart. 🙄
However....brutal conditions...this is day one!
😂😂😂
It wasn't the quality of the boots. It was 40 miles of incredibly difficult terrain.
In everyday use, they last forever.
You really are a historian.
I had a pair of rockports that I rode hard, not 30 years, more like 10 years, and in the end the soles were literally falling apart and it was time to retire them for a new pair.
They’ll outlive me.
They look great.
