"This is the great discovery of the conflict entrepreneurs: what counts in politics is not how well people are doing, but how well they are doing in relation to designated out-groups." So people support a class war against themselves.

Question for us is what can we do about it?
I keep thinking that 'active citizenry' need to be more than protest and an independent media. I think, we need to find the narratives which ridicule present political and economic practices while we, the people, build new business networks, new internet platforms,
I have no trust that we can ever make politicians do the right thing, or make companies do the right thing. These trees are rotten. Let's plant new trees, and this time do it together, globally.
Seems like these days that kind of capital destruction could be significantly less bloody. So much of the wealth of Musk, Bezos, etc. is digital and so much is tied up in financial instruments.
That's why they focus on "disruption", and in particular the use of digital and AI is the kind of disruption that doesn't require labour.

Another book, that provides an insight into our drift into a feudalistic future to recommend is 'Techno-Feudalism' by Yanis Varoufakis

Of course the self-aggrandisement & narcissism are no surprise.
But why does Musk push the topic of population decline as a 'concern' given that, in an AI+automation filled future with longer lifespans, we'll surely see more poverty on the planet?
1. Do you support Musk’s plan to build a Mars base in his lifetime for his one million chosen elite to survive climate breakdown?
2. Do you think you have a seat?

4. Do you agree with the analysis of Musk’s AI bot Grok on why he wants to install anti-net-zero governments?

Powerful words. Not thought of it like that before, especially when considering all the data they've scraped and hold on each of us. Would we even be safe if we ran and hid in a remote, completely unplugged off-grid valley?
