My 2.5 year old loves the art so we gave her a bunch of castoffs from a Thunder Junction sealed thing we did with relatives when they visited. This is her little "fun stuff" drawer in our couch side table.
I picked up a middle version of dredge and I felt too dumb to play it- once Faithless looting came out- tried it again and fell in love- nothing better then hard casting this little guy against Death Shadows was always a good time- would just need to buy you a turn or two until found Conflagrate
I honestly don't know if I'd still be into Magic if it wasn't for you guys, I wanted to be a Deadguy so bad. Winning tournaments with Jackal Pups, and Cursed Scrolling people with just mountains in my hand made me love Magic. 25+ years later I still play burn in modern
I feel like for that to be flavorfully accurate the artists should have painstakingly illustrated about 2/3 of the card and then just had a jagged line go suddenly off the edge.
I will say that the next four cards in the box would be a dead giveaway. Bridges are kinda flexible in a few decks, but the next four are a pretty obvious "Oh. It's that deck" moment.
The artist Steve Ellis is among my oldest friends. I am trying to convince him to start coming to Magic Cons with proofs and mats and such. This and his Lurrus are some of my fave pieces from that set.

*It was not remotely my first event.
I bought a box of Russian Magic Origins back in the day. Lots of fun gems.

I love the cozy street vibe and the diagonal foiling!
