Depends on my mood. I prefer silence usually, but when that isn't possible or I need to get myself jumpstarted I have a 6+ hour playlist of mostly soundtrack and video game music 😅. Two Steps From Hell has the perfect cinematic soundtracks for that.
For romance and/or spice scenes I have an entire playlist on Spotify which is literally named: Morally Grey 🖤
It gives all the enemies to lovers feels.

I like silence while I write but make playlists for my MCs, so kind of both? There are some songs that so strongly remind me of my characters that when I listen to them, it’s easier to write in their POVs. So if I have trouble with a scene, I listen to one of the playlists to access the character.

Silence! I need to concentrate. If I listened to music with lyrics I’d prob start singing them & typing them 😂 I’ve tried a crackling fire in a rainstorm & music with no lyrics, but I’m aware of them & get distracted.

All 🎵 the 🎵 playlists 🎵!!! Some songs are for specific scenes listened to on loop while drafting, and others are vibes only. Either way, must have music to make words.
