I’m going to stick my neck out and say that wasn’t intended as a pie chart. It’s obviously unfortunate because it is a circle with segments, which strongly suggests that.
The lesson here is to test your data vis!

One solution would be one large unbroken fairly abstract pizza with cheese and tomato, with bubbles scattered over it in various sizes (area=percentage popularity) and colours. Each one labelled with item and percentage.
