I've seen people say they don't like it, which is fine. But I fucking that HD Pixel Art look. The only one I didn't too much care for was the Phantasy Star one because the backgrounds are 3D and not Pixel art
Probably. Right now I'm eyeballing The DQ 3 Remake and Triangle Strategy on pc, but I'll probably have to wait until they go on sale or until my wallet recovers from some recent expenses.
Would be great cause then it gives them a chance to finish the game properly. They ran out of funds and had to rush the second disc, which made it feel incomplete. I'd love to see them flesh it out more in a remake.
I will, there's just too much good stuff to play. I was even ready to play the orginal and then the remake got announced so I held back, but with a HD-2D remake I'll probably get around to it as my first game next year.
This aesthetic is SO compelling that it singlehandedly makes me want to play games I normally wouldn't play like Octopath Traveller or the new HD Dragon Quest.
Octopath Traveler was such an influential game for a new fun art style in games. I would love to see Square Enix remake more 2D games in this art style. And they have such a catalog of games begging for new releases.
I will never forget nearly getting wiped on some random battle with Celine as my only survivor with about a bee's dick of hp left and she just goes "THANK GOD" at the end of the fight, 8 year old me was stunned by how "aware" the characters felt because of their voicelines and when they would cue

So happy that art style caught on and we got many more of those types of games 🙏
(I know for sure one is Octopath)
I love the style on these, reminds me so much of this!
It’s free in the classic catalog for plus or you can buy the HD remaster that has this game and 2 included 💕
